Celebrating 50 years of MSB, Tracy Pizzo, Dee Gauss

Dear Paula,

We are celebrating 50 years of MSB!! I would like to tell how much the years I spent at the ballet school, my happy place, have meant to me. I love dancing !

Paula, you are the most talented, wonderful, knowledgeable ballet instructor on this planet.

You know how to be kind but tough at the at the same time.

We used to say the you were there energizer bunny, cuz there is no stopping Paula!I I cherish my days with You, Anita, Mrs. Shiff ,Mrs. Whipple, and lovely Rosemary. You all will forever be in my heart and I feel blessed to have had you all in my life ❤️

Take a trip down Marblehead School of Ballet’s 50th memory lane with alumna Dee Gauss.

“I danced at MSB 1971-1975, including as a charter member of the NSCBC, under the name Debbie Gauss, as of 2000 Dee Gauss. “I danced at MSB 1971-1975, including as a charter member of the NSCBC, under the name Debbie Gauss, as of 2000 Dee Gauss. I left Marblehead in September 1975 as a ballet major at the University of Utah (UU) in Salt Lake City.

Ballet led me to a love of Russia, after 2 quarters at UU, realizing I’d never be a performer I changed my major to English & Russian literature in English, including Russian language. That led years later to enlisting in the US Army as a Russian linguist. Four years later I became an Army intelligence officer and retired in 2006 as a Major. I now live in Salt Lake City & take ballet classes at the Ballet West Academy. I’m also on the Ballet West Guild board of directors as treasurer. …..Every place I’ve taken classes teachers have admired my sound technique and applaud my early teacher, Paula.”
